Quarter Mile Hearts

BLURB:
Following an accident injuring her dad, twenty-four year old Leigh Storm returns home to the town she was once so desperate to escape.
It is only a matter of hours before she runs into Max 'Manwhore' Morgan. Dark eyed and dangerous to her heart, he is the very last person she wants to see. It might have been four years since she saw him last, but there's no denying the chemistry between them is as potent as ever. Max makes it clear he isn't about to let her run again, even if he is the one thing Leigh vowed to herself she would never date: a street racer.
After racing tore apart her own family and left a path of destruction in its wake, Leigh decided long ago that it is not the life she wants for herself. But when a wager gone wrong threatens her dad's livelihood, Leigh must go against everything she believes in.
This time there's more at stake on the quarter mile than just the family business— she's risking her heart as well.

~*~*~*~*REVIEW~*~*~*
I love a good racing book, to the point that I will seek them out when the mood strikes. Quarter Mile Hearts is definitely a book I'll be recommending to others as well as being one that I'll reread when the craving hits.

Leigh Storm left town 4 years ago in pursuit of anything not related to cars or racing. She grew up with a father who owns a garage and raced cars. Due to the life she had growing up and the destruction she saw from it she wants to be a safe distance from the racing life style. This includes not visiting home as often as she should and definitely avoiding Max "Manwhore" Morgan.

Max works on cars as well as races them. He has no problem antagonizing Leigh with the bevy of blondes that surround the racing scene. He had her once but she doesn't seem to want to be had again. So he shows off the women he can bag right under Leigh's nose. But there's a lot more to Max then the "Manwhore" title that Leigh has given him.

As Leigh learns to trust Max and lean on him for help he opens up to her about his current and past feelings. But when faced with the possibility of Leigh's dad loosing the garage Max has to make his intentions toward her clear and leave it in her hands what their future will hold.

Between a great story line, solid characters, and a well written book I give Quarter Mile Hearts 4 stars.
